Fort DeSoto & Egmont Key

Fort DeSoto is an incredible area to explore with so much history. You can launch from Fort DeSoto Boat Ramp and ride out through the beautiful Bunces Pass sandbar and over to Egmont Key where you can anchor your Ski and explore the island, Once on the island you will have access to the 100+ year old Battery still standing from the Spanish war. Just south of Egmont Key you have the old collapsed ruins where you can snorkel. This area has so much to offer including Passage Key Sandbar and the infamous Sky Way Bridge.

What We Like About The Location:

Personal Watercraft owners from all over come to enjoy this area as the water is clear and beautiful, There is also the option to camp on the islands in the areas like Shell Key Island or Fort Desoto Park Campground that offers 238 campsites, waterfront camping, RV hookups, Showers, Grills, picnic tables and a camp store.

Local Tips:

From Fort DeSoto boat ramp you can also make your way north over to Johns Pass where there is a variety of restaurants, shops and marinas for fuel.
