Dunedin Causeway

Welcome to the unofficial HQ of the Florida Ski Riders, the Dunedin Causeway! This sandy stretch of launch able real estate is a valued local treasure as its 2.5-mile route leads directly to one of Americas Best Beaches, Honeymoon Island. Here, you can catch a ferry across the channel and arrive at yet ANOTHER best beach in America and rest your toes in the white sands of Caladesi Island. This is one of the stops on our Dunedin Excursion Event hosted twice a year, so be sure to come join us this year and experience the ride with hundreds of other PWC’s! Hours & Parking The Causeway is open for recreational activities from 5am – 11pm. Parking is free along the Dunedin Causeway. Boat / Watercraft Launch The Dunedin Causeway is a popular location to launch a variety of watercraft including motorized boats, jet skis, wave runners, sailboats and kayaks. Please note, there are no paved ramps. The southern facing area is divided into four separate sections. There are no watercraft regulations for the northern side of the Causeway. It would be wise to take a look at the tides and try and load/unload during high tide as its kind of shallow.

There is so much to see from this launch location. You go north, you will head towards ANCLOTE. South, you will head towards Clearwater Beach. If you haven’t been to the area and would like to experience it with hundreds or fellow riders, then make sure you attend the next official Dunedin Excursion. Watch the video below to take a ride with us and see the area for yourself!

What We Like About The Location:

This is dubbed the unofficial HQ of the Florida Ski Riders, so of course we LOVE this area! There is a little something perfect to do for friends, solo rides, family’s and couples. Anyone can stay on shore and sit back and enjoy a beautiful day, so this makes a great spot to hang out all day as “home base” and go explore the area. Plenty of gas is available, plenty of food and drink within a short ride also!

Local Tips:

Launching here is very shallow, so be sure to check our Tide Report and plan to launch your ski when its high tide. If you get stuck or have issues, anyone from FLSR is more than happy to help out. Remember this rule of thumb for exploring…  North = scenic/beauty while SOUTH = fun, food, entertainment and popular beaches.  Also, if its choppy or windy or if you have sensitive riders, stick to the inside when the wind is coming from the west.
